Below, you'll find other important information about this position. $ Sign-On Bonus Eligible $ Provides technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in three areas of specialization as defined by the department while utilizing sterile and aseptic technique. Acquires all imaging and post processing. Provides emergency services on call. Participates and is engaged in a team environment while providing care to patients in an often high stress situation. Acts as a mentor and a resource for Level I & II technologists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
For West Virginia, Ohio, and Maryland locations:
1. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
2. Radiologist Technologist through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board of Examiners, or applicable state where services will be performed.
3. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
4. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
5. Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) Certification within 90 days of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Proficient in three modalities as defined by the department.
2. Five years' experience in Neuro/Vascular Interventional Lab.
For Pennsylvania locations:
1. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
3. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
4. Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) Certification within 90 days of hire date.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Proficient in three modalities as defined by the department.
2. Five years' experience in Neuro/Vascular Interventional Lab.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Obtain Dysthymia course certification through WVU Medicine within one year of hire.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position.They are not intended to be constructed as an all-inclusive list of all responsibilities and duties.Other duties may be assigned.

1. Monitors and interprets Hemodynamic monitoring.
2. Maintains all competencies yearly by participating in Validations in Practice.
3. Participates in Inventory Management of the department.
4. Checks and prepares patient prior to procedure.
5. Maintains radiation safety.
6. Actively participates and leads Performance Improvement efforts.
7. Observes sterile technique while assembling supplies necessary for physicians and other lab personnel involved to scrub and enter the lab without infraction 100% of the time.
8. Maintains the confidentiality of the patient and unit information, without infraction, as monitored by supervision.
9. Prepares entry site applicable to the procedure using sterile technique and three areas of specialization.
10. Continuously monitors patient's ECG and blood pressure while documenting and advising the physician of any and all activity in an accurate and timely manner and providing documentation that will become part of the patient's permanent record.
11. Participates in the on-call rotation of the laboratory and remains available for emergent procedures 24 hours a day.
12. Acts as the laboratory's code team by initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillators under the direct supervision of the physician in charge.
13. Correctly documents all procedures performed in three areas of specialization as defined by the department and utilizes the inventory control system that is established. Correctly bills for all procedures.
14. Participates in educational and in-service opportunities to maintain three areas of specialization.
15. Instructs radiography students in the clinical setting with regard to patient positioning, technique selection, manipulation of equipment and the use of accessory devices to obtain Radiographic images.
16. Supports the development of level I & II Technologists.
17. Yearly completion of a Process Improvement Plan for department that is approved by Leadership Team.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to communicate with physicians and peers on a professional level.

2. Knowledgeable in Sterile Technique.

3. Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving and transmitting images to data storage system.

4. Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, operating manuals, product information or regulations.

5. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

6. Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
