Essential Job Duties
The Project Coordinator for the NC Pesticide Safety Education Program ( PSEP) will collaborate with the Program Director and the PSEP team to support the program's mission of promoting the safe and effective use of pesticides by applicators across agricultural, commercial, and residential settings. The position encompasses the following key responsibilities:


  • Manuals and Educational Resources: Review, edit, and format 1-2 pesticide certification manuals annually. Assist in the creation of Extension bulletins, website updates, and other online educational materials, ensuring all content is current, accessible, and relevant to users.

  • Workshop Coordination: Plan and manage logistics for 25+ Pesticide Safety workshops each year, held throughout North Carolina to prepare applicators for state certification exams. Responsibilities include coordinating presenters, travel arrangements, and workshop schedules. Act as the main point of contact for attendees and presenters, both before and after the workshops, providing clear communication on training materials and licensing procedures.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including Extension Agents from all 101 County Extension Centers and personnel from the NCDA&CS Structural Pest and Pesticide Section. Schedule quarterly meetings with the PSEP Advisory Committee and prepare minutes.

  • Financial Management: Oversee the fiduciary responsibilities of the PSEP, including managing the PSEP online store, securing quotes and bids for training materials, handling contracts, processing accounts receivable/payable, and managing grant fund disbursements. Collect and organize data to support budgeting, financial reporting, and informed program decision-making.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in education or business administration, or a Bachelor's degree, preferably in education or business administration with at least three (3) years of alternative or equivalent professional experience.

  • Ability to provide direction to staff
  • Ability to create, compile, and analyze printed and electronic information.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and effectively in written form.
  • Ability to edit, adjust wording to meet the needs of the audience.
  • Ability to coordinate scheduling and logistics for outreach programming.
  • Ability to explain and interpret program information to stakeholders
  • Comprehensive knowledge of program services
  • Ability to manage budgets and program finances

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in education or business administration.

Required License(s) or Certification(s)

  • Valid Driver's License and the ability to obtain an NC Driver's License within 60 days of the start date.


The incumbent wil need to drive a program vehicle to different pesticide schools independently.
