Primary Purpose of Position |
The Post-Doctoral Research Associate will conduct research that must align with the mission of the Center of Electrochemical Dynamics and Reactions on Surfaces (
CEDARS).
The mission of
CEDARS is an integrated theory-experiment approach to reveal how a catalyst splits water into hydrogen and oxygen at the molecular level.
The Postdoc, working independently but in close cooperation and consultation with the CEDARS' Principal Investigators, Scientists, and students, will perform routine laboratory procedures throughout the training period.
He/she may develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
The postdoctoral fellows working at
NCAT will also receive mentoring from the faculty members from the other intuitions participating in the Center.
Postdocs are expected to take on increased responsibilities throughout their time in the lab - including working on proposals, leading large projects, coordinating faculty visits, etc. - and are given regular opportunities to engage with major sponsors in both industry and in academia, depending on what career path the individual chooses to pursue. |

Ph.D. Materials Science and Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Computational Science and Engineering/Chemistry/Physics |
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
Up to 5 years experience with demonstrated proof of publications in high impact journals and citations in the field of materials research, especially in energy materials for photocatalytic, electrocatalytic,
PEC/
PVC, simulation and modeling be required. |
