Overview

We are expanding our engineering team in semiconductor design, manufacturing, and new product development. Keysight Labs has several engineering and internship positions focused on integrated circuits and subsystems. Meet our engineering managers at Keysight's booth 1427 at WE24 in Chicago, IL. Keysight Technologies, the world's premier measurement company, has multiple engineering intern positions in semiconductor fabrication and heterogeneous integration. The intern will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to a variety of new technology development projects. This may include wafer fabrication and/or wafer-level assembly of the System in Package (SiP) and the subsystem. The role is within the High Frequency Technology Center (HFTC), at the Headquarters in Santa Rosa, California. Live in beautiful Sonoma County amongst vineyards, redwood forests, rivers, lakes and coastline, while developing state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing processes.

HFTC is part of Keysight Labs, the core R&D organization that enables Keysight's Centers of Excellence, Industry Solutions Teams and Technology Centers, to provide RF, microwave, mmWave, 5G and 6G Test and Measurement solutions to customers in the communications, aerospace & defense, automotive & energy, general electronics, manufacturing, and semiconductor industries. HFTC technologies include InP and GaAs-based HBTs, HEMTs, and diodes, as well as high-frequency System in Package (SiP) and PCA subsystem solutions.

Responsibilities

We are seeking engineering interns with prior research and/or industry experience. Candidates with any combination of the following expertise will be considered.

  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Thermocompression and flip chip bonding
  • Surface Mount Technologies (SMT)
  • Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) and Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI)
  • Underfill materials and methods
  • Die singulation and sort
  • Process automation, coding, data analytics

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or relevant fields. MS or PhD students and candidates with prior research experience preferred.

Experience in the following areas is helpful:

  • III-V compound semiconductors and/or silicon interposer technologies
  • Heterogeneous integration, advanced packaging & assembly techniques
  • Statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are important for successful cross-functional interactions. The role requires proactive leadership to drive your projects toward realizing a novel technology that differentiates Keysight in 6G markets.
