JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Institute for Sustainable Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Science (SAFES) is seeking an energetic and creative person to serve as our Program and Academic Adviser to lead our Environmental Resource Management Program (ERM), its three options of environmental science, soil science, and water science, as well as the undergraduate minors. The ERM program is one of the largest majors in the College of Agricultural Sciences. It is an interdepartmental, multidisciplinary undergraduate program that is striving to meet the demand for people with the scientific and leadership skills to address the enormous environmental challenges we are facing. The program is more than 50 years old and has graduated thousands of students during its time. We expect this position to encompass a mix of advising, teaching, and student recruitment as well as student engagement and outreach. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Advising:

Education & Experience Requirements This position will be filled at the Advanced or Senior Professional level depending on the successful candidate's education and experience. For the Advanced Professional level, it requires a master's degree or higher, plus three or more years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional education and/or experience are required for higher-level positions. Preference will be given to those with degrees in Environmental and Natural Resources, Academic Advising, or a related field. Candidates should have experience and skills in the following areas:
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
