As part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, the Department of Anatomy and Pathology at Marian University, Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM) is seeking applications for a 12-month tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pathology, to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by joining our diverse and collaborative academic community to contribute to the education of medical students and our Masters of Biomedical Science students. We are committed to developing osteopathic physicians through a curriculum that emphasizes a robust and integrated understanding of basic and clinical sciences for practical patient care.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of dedicated faculty to design and deliver pathology content as part of a comprehensive, systems-based medical curriculum. Faculty at MU-WCOM play a pivotal role in facilitating an in-depth comprehension of the human body's normal processes, as well as the integration and regulation of these processes in both health and disease. In this role, you will focus on instructing students in concepts related to the pathology of human health and the mechanisms underlying the development of various disease states. MU-WCOM, established as Indiana's second medical college in 2013, places a strong emphasis on holistic patient care, addressing the mind, body, and spirit to uncover the root causes of illnesses. MU-WCOM is housed in the state -of-the-art Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences, which features The Browning Anatomy Lab equipped with 36 cadaveric dissection stations, each with computer terminals. Additionally, we have The Hill Rom Simulation Center, offering students realistic, hands-on training in a safe and controlled environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • The successful applicant will provide instruction primarily to medical students in the DO program in the various area of pathology.
  • Collaborate with other MU-WCOM faculty in the design, delivery, evaluation, and improvement of the curriculum.
  • Ensure DO students grasp pathology for success in the NBOME, COMLEX-USA Level 1 exam and clinical rotations.
  • Demonstrate excellence in scholarly activity through the establishment of scholarship that involves students and leads to the creation and dissemination of new knowledge.
  • Provides excellence in service to the University and community through involvement and leadership in committee and professional societies, and by providing mentorship to students.
  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.


Required Qualification:



  • Applicants must have a DO, MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in pathology or a closely related discipline.
  • A strong interest in teaching. Special consideration will be given to the with experience in profession and/or graduate level education.
  • The qualified candidate should have a proven record of scholarly activity (e.g., publications, funding) consistent with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.
