Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders.

The internship program includes:

What you will be doing as a Risk Management Intern:

The internships will allow participants to gain a breadth of experience in the finance function of a retail enterprise, with focus on Risk Management. This intern will participate in a project here at Meijer. They will gain experience working with claims management systems, complex insurance programs and communicating with various business areas across a large company.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing the Risk Manager assistance on special projects focusing around claim analytics and reporting.

Qualifications:

The Meijer Internship Program is an experiential education program designed for students currently enrolled in a degree program, who are considering future careers in this exciting field.

• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Insurance and Risk Management (preference junior level candidate).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Attention to detail
• Drive for results - has focus on the bottom line
• Customer focus - dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers
• Relationship Skills - can create positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies
• Communication Skills - conveys the right information in writing and verbally
