Position Summary

The UNM HSC Human Research Protections Office (HRPO) is seeking a goal-driven, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Administrative to Director with sIRB, Administrative Review, and Post-Reviewer duties as well. The HRPO supports three UNM HSC Human Research Review Committees (HRRCs). The office promotes the safety and protection of individuals involved in human research by providing support, guidance, and education to facilitate ethical and scientifically sound research.

The specific duties will include:

* Provide Administrative and Program support for the HRPP Director.

* Provide Administrative and Program support for the HRPO and all staff. Maintain the Federal-wide assurance with the Office of Human Research Protections (OHRP).

* Prepare correspondence, as needed, for submission to regulatory agencies and internal HSC leadership, specifically, the Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor and Human Research Review Committee Chairs.

* Review and submit invoices related to HRPO services, and reconcile the payments in accordance to set policies and procedures.

* Calendar and scheduling management for the HRPO.

* Administrative work such as filing and document management, phone call support, assisting with the planning and organization of special projects related to the Human Research Protections Program (HRPP), and updating HRRC membership rosters.

* sIRB duties include, for example and not limited to, assisting with paperwork involved with when the HRRC is the IRB of record and when the HRRC is not the IRB of record. Involves communicating and collaborating with various institutions/entities throughout the nation and world-wide.

* Administrative Review duties include, for example and not limited to, providing back up support when the lead Administrative Assistant is out of the office. This will include a full working knowledge of Administrative Review, including providing guidance and consultation within Huron IRB and Click COI systems.

* Post-Review duties include, for example and not limited to, assisting with securing meeting attendance for each HRRC. Computer set-up for each HRRC meeting. Preparing and sending determination letters via Huron IRB, for example and not limited to, study closure, and adding/removing study investigators.

* Reception; Greets and directs visitors.

* Maintain primary oversight of HRPO email box and main phone line to answer queries or direct to more appropriate staff members, as appropriate.

* Assist with the management of the departmental calendar including scheduling of researcher community training sessions, consultations, staff leave and other special events.

* Compose and prepare program correspondence, reports, newsletters and other publications.

* Maintenance and organization of HRPO supplies and ordering supplies.

* Perform miscellaneous duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

High level competency in computer usage including Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Strong attention to detail

Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
