Job Description

WANTED: An experienced master-level Application Developer to support the development and sustainment of the Spectacle Request Transmission System (SRTS) web-based application for our Defense Health Agency customer.

As an Application Developer, you will:

A week in the life of an Application Developer:



  • Attend daily standup with development and technical team
  • Design, code, unit test stories and bugs for each sprint
  • Write queries to support data requests from the government
  • Use development tools for updating tasks and stories, check-in, and version control
  • Design solutions and collaborate with a team of highly skilled software developers and business analysts
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance analysts to ensure the software is functioning as required

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or a degree in a closely related field
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in information technology, including application program development
  • Hands-on development experience building enterprise web applications and RESTful APIs using .NET C#
  • Experience in frontend web application development, ideally with Blazor
  • Thorough understanding and experience using relational databases, preferably T-SQL
  • Experience working with cross-functional project teams using Agile or Scrum methodology
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code
  • Proficiency in using version control systems like Git
  • Experience with IIS Server v10 is a plus
  • Experience with object-oriented methodologies
  • Experience in developing secured web applications adhering to security best practices.
  • Experience with unit testing, continuous integration and DevOps methodologies, and best practices and tools
  • Familiarity with Federal cybersecurity compliance work and DISA ASD STIG
  • Familiarity with Oracle BusinessObjects administration and use
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security certifications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a remote work environment
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and undergo a background check for Public Trust

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
