Echocardiographer Student Worker

Under the direct, personal supervision of a registered Echo Cardiographer, the student worker assists in the performance of high-quality sonographic images/exams.

Essential Job Statements

Functions under the direct, personal supervision of a registered Echocardiographer in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital and sonography policies and procedures.

>Directs patients to imaging rooms and clearly explains the exam and exam expectations.

>Performs high quality echocardiograms in the order stated in the imaging protocol.

>Stocks and/or obtains supplies as directed and maintains an organized work area.

>Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.

Additional Position Requirements:

Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your Supervisor and/or Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet department needs. Day shift availability is expected.

Employment Qualifications

Required Education:

A student that is currently enrolled and actively completing a School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Student actively enrolled in a cardiac sonography/cardiovascular sonography program at an academic institution, or a recent (6-months) graduate of a cardiac/cardiovascular sonography program who has not yet obtained credentials in cardiac sonography.

CPR - Basic Life Support
