Georgia-Pacific is seeking an innovative and forward-thinking individual to join our team as an Outage Planner for the Outage Team in Oriented Strand Board and Composite Panels (OSB/CP) Group. Team members are located across the United States and work with facility annual outages to include maintenance turnarounds and capital projects in OSB/CP group in the Building Products division. The Outage Team is a capability to implement long range planning and execution to improve asset condition and integrate new production processes with predictable and competitive results. The Outage Planner plays a crucial role in mid and large outages by prioritizing planning tasks and ensuring adherence to the T-365 or NaviTrack readiness process. In this role you will report to the Sr. Manager of Outages and be a part of a growing team! It is a hybrid role offering the opportunity to work remotely or at a Georgia-Pacific office as needed. Travel is expected to be <40% of the time for the first year and <20% of the time thereafter. Travel will be expected the first year to build a working relationship with the site operations, maintenance, and project teams.

What You Will Do

  • Learn and apply Georgia-Pacific's maintenance workflow process to effectively plan and schedule work.
  • Collaborate with Outage Manager/Coordinator to prioritize planning tasks in adherence to the T-365 or NaviTrack readiness process.
  • Communicate extensively with craftspeople, operations, contractors, and materials suppliers to ensure smooth coordination of outage activities.
  • Promote and ensure safe work execution by developing detailed Job Hazard Analysis documentation and complying with all safety procedures and permitting requirements.
  • Plan outage scope for multiple crafts, prioritizing work based on area worklists and daily backlog management.
  • Utilize planning tools to determine parts, materials, rental equipment, and contractor support needed for job execution.
  • Coordinate and manage outage parts, rentals, and contractor needs by submitting requisitions and tracking their progress.
  • Develop and update Bill of Materials (BOM) for equipment, ensuring accurate documentation for maintenance tasks.
  • Submit Major Expense Project (MEP) requests for parts or contractor services as required.
  • Create and validate Standard Maintenance Procedures (SMPs) to provide detailed instructions for job execution and ensure compliance.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, industrial, or military environment.
  • Experience with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) (i.e. 4site, SAP, Passport, MOE, MP2, etc.).
  • Experience with adhering to safety and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations
  • Access to a National or International Airport
  • Live within 100 miles of the corporate headquarters located in Atlanta or one of the 6 US OSB/CP facilities. The US OSB/CP facilities are located in Brookneal, VA; Mount Jewett, PA; Alcolu, SC; Hosford, FL; Fordyce, AR; Diboll, TX

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Maintenance or Reliability experience in Building Products, Pulp & Paper industry, or equivalent industry.
  • Experience with fabrication, torquing, rotating equipment & pump alignment
  • Experience with maintaining equipment reliability standards and improving asset condition.
  • Experience with MOE and MP2 CMMS.
  • Experience tracking purchase orders from generation to invoicing.
  • Experience planning and managing outages/shutdowns.
