STAHR Partnership Program, School of Medicine Job Description
The Program Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of all STAHR programs, which consists of year-round programming for our student participants. This position reports to the STAHR Program Director. The STAHR Program is currently part of the School of Medicine's Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and serves all health professional schools at UMKC. Duties include: * Manage the day-to-day operations, planning and execution of all STAHR programs. This includes the Scholars' summer experience and the Academic Year experience. Additionally, this includes, but is not limited to, recruitment of students and instructors, communication, budgeting, and program design. * Provide support to the STAHR Ambassador and Saturday Academy programs, as needed. * Monitor the progress made with regards to program planning and implementation by the Project Support Coordinator; develop expectations, policies, procedures, etc.; resolve issues that may arise; recommend and execute initiatives and strategies * Assist with supervision of the grant admin team, which includes the Project Support Coordinator, graduate student assistants, contracted instructors, and student employees. This position will provide training, performance evaluation, and motivation for team members to achieve individual and grant goals * Work with the Director and other team members to enhance and assess student engagement within all STAHR programs. * Develop and disseminate grant-related information through presentations, publications, conferences, etc. * Work collaboratively with grant partners, specifically the Schools of Pharmacy and Dentistry, members of the UMKC Health Sciences District, the UMKC Institute for Human Development, and student participants * Represent the School of Medicine on relevant university and/or community committees, and represent the grant when the Program Director is unavailable * Perform other duties as needed Position includes minimal travel, weekend, and evening work. Remote work is allowed up to 1 day per week. Minimum Qualifications
* A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired as necessary. * Experience in grant management, non-profit program planning, higher education or education program planning, budgeting, supervising, etc. Preferred Qualifications
* A master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and training from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired. * 3-4 years of experience directly related to the position. Anticipated Hiring Range
$51,875 - $55,000 annually commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity Application Materials

The STAHR Partnership Program is a grant-funded project (from HRSA) between the UMKC Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, and Pharmacy. The goal of the STAHR Partnership Program is to increase the number of students from educationally and/or economically disadvantaged backgrounds who are prepared to enter, persist in, and graduate from a health sciences degree program at UMKC. The program will achieve this goal through structured pipeline programs, which include hands-on experiences, academic support and supplemental instruction, student psychosocial and emotional development, financial literacy, and mentorship. The specific programs include the STAHR Scholars Program for pre-health high school and college students, the STAHR Ambassador Program for students admitted to the health professional schools at UMKC, and the STAHR Saturday Academy Program for high school students residing in the greater Kansas City area.
