Initial programming efforts of this position may include: identifying local data and resources addressing comprehensive aspects of health and well-being, engaging community partners, agencies and individuals to build collaborative relationships and coalition engagement.

You will work in collaboration with local agencies, partners, and community residents to plan, implement and evaluate policy, systems and environmental change initiatives that promote health and well-being; and working with community health coalitions, including Tribal partners.

Responsibilities:
Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.

  • 25% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 10% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • 35% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
  • 10% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • 5% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 5% Leads the implementation of programs, policies, and procedures through oversight of day-to-day activities for program staff and student and community volunteers
  • 10% Communicate plans, activities and achievements to Area Extension Director, Program Managers, partners and relevant stakeholders

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree in a field relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position such as, but not limited to: community health education, public health, community psychology, family and consumer sciences, healthy policy and social work


Qualifications:

Required:
- Work experience relevant to the programmatic responsibilities of the position
- Ability to work cooperatively and develop partnerships or coalitions with other agencies, community-based services, or organizations to address educational needs
- Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology
- Understanding of cultural, social and political history, issues and dynamics of Tribal populations
- Ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity

Preferred:
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the area of community health programming
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments
- Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
- Demonstrated skill in interpreting, utilizing, and applying evidence-based information and research findings
- Demonstrated commitment to the goals and values of Extension's commitment to equity and social justice to support opportunities and outcomes for youth, families, educators, and communities
- Demonstrated success in developing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs for diverse audiences utilizing a variety of educational techniques, methods and modes

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
