What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Mechanic you will maintain and repair processes and equipment throughout the Barry, Illinois emulsion plant. You will maintain the equipment for operating as designed and at full operational capability. Other duties will include:




  • Perform objective safety and quality inspections on all equipment and facilities, and take corrective action as needed



  • Resolve daily issues with equipment without major loss of production



  • Setup of equipment for production



  • Trouble shoot repair incidents with the equipment and machines



  • Respond to unscheduled plant repair needs during off shifts, as requested



  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions to protect personal safety and safety of others.



  • Knowledgeable and use practices consistent with company policies and procedures from applicable technical modules, SOPs, work site, and safety policies and procedures.



  • Knowledgeable of, and comply with applicable DOT, OSHA, EPA and BATFE.



  • Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations.



  • Proactively handle safety issues and practice Take 5! process by using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety.



  • Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event.





What We're Looking For:




  • Associates degree or higher in related field or relative work experience in electrical/mechanical systems



  • 3+ years experience in the maintenance field.



  • Mechanical aptitude, with an understanding of plant equipment.



  • Understand and apply principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, programmable controllers, boilers, fabrication, welding and carpentry.



  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.



  • Must be at least 21 years of age .



  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
