Ameresco has a new opportunity for an Associate Project Engineer to join our Federal Engineering Team developing and implementing energy savings and renewable technology projects starting in the spring or summer of 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate visits to customer project sites to investigate existing mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing systems and document energy performance information, including utility data and facility infrastructure drawings.

  • Identify opportunities for conservation or efficiency, prepare energy savings calculations, and perform engineering assessment including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysis.

  • Leadengineering design anddevelopment activities insupport of construction, operations, and maintenance of customer siteprojects as required byenergy savings performance contracts.

  • Analyze and prepare conceptual and detailed engineering design and bid documents, cost estimates, drawings, and specifications for energy efficient building technology and system measures.

  • Coordinate with vendors and installation contractors for feasibility and pricing verification of proposed project modifications.

  • Provide engineering guidance throughout development, construction, project commissioning, and operations, including proposals, technical reports,cost estimates, and presentations.

  • Compliance with company, industry, trade,and jurisdictionalsafety standards, practices, codes.

  • Ensure successful project implementation that meets or exceeds company objectives, financial parameters, and technical needs required to deliver customer energy cost savings.

  • Cultivate and maintainpositive business relationships,

  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSME or equivalent four year technical engineering degree.

  • Ability to analyze and quantify energy savings and implement projects involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, controls, and distributed generation.

  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of measurement and verification, project cost estimating and accounting desired.

  • Experience with whole building energy simulation software such as eQuest.

  • Financial planning/ budget experience with ability to develop a business case helpful.

  • Professional registration oreducational progresstoward PE, CEM, LEED.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication and technical presentation skills.

  • Valid Drivers License in good standing, issued by resident state required.

  • Travel may be required.
