Position Title: Chaperone
Reports To: Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Athletic Director
Supervises: Student athletes
Salary: Per Negotiated Contract
Season: Ends 11/1/2024

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The High School Cross Country Chaperone will provide support and supervision to the cross country team during practices, meets, and other related activities. This stipend position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging environment for student-athletes, ensuring their safety and well-being during all team activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Others may be assigned.
  1. Attend all practices and meets:** Be present at all cross country practices, home and away meets, and related events as scheduled by the Head Coach.
  2. Attends all meetings scheduled by administration, athletic director, and head coach.
  3. Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes during practices, travel to and from meets, and while on-site at events.
  4. Model and promote good sportsmanship and appropriate competitive attitude of the team.
  5. Practice professional conduct during events and practices. Exemplify high standards of personal conduct and habits.
  6. Emphasize the importance of academic achievement of student athletes.
  7. Helps to ensure the proper use, care and management of facilities, as well as help oversee appropriate use and care of equipment.
  8. Promote the athletic program, and in no way work to undermine the head coach, the specific athletic program, or Nestucca High School programs in general.
  9. Position requires reliable and dependable attendance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required
1. Ability to organize
2. Ability to supervise students
5. Ability to foster positive human relations
6. Pass OSAA certifications.

EVALUATION :
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Head Coach, Athletic Director with assistance from district administration.
