Responsibilities

The Intake Representative interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and verifying information, such as patient/s name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information and obtaining authorization. Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Intake Representative is responsible for filing patient reports, retrieving patient records and must demonstrate effective telephone etiquette and greet patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner. Ability to multi-tasked is needed to manage an efficient work-flow. Ability to utilize age specific techniques to communicate with the population served which could range from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics. Maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe.

Position is full time (40 hours/week) working Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Must have experience working in a high patient volume office, scheduling surgeries and doing boarding slips.



Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Previous experience as a medical office assistant within a medical clinic or similar experience preferred.

2. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
