Manatee Elementary School is seeking an experienced Varying Exceptionalities ESE Teacher to teach and reinforce reading and math skills to our ESE students. The Varying Exceptionalities Teacher provides services to the ESE students according to their IEP. The VE teacher might also pull students for small group instruction. The VE teacher must regularly administer skills, tests, and other assessments to determine the progress of the exceptional students.

This special education teaching position is for grades K - 1. There are approximately 6 students and up to 2 instructional assistants in the classroom along with the teacher.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • FL DOE certification in ESE K-12 or Specific Learning Disabilities

AND

  • FL DOE Elementary Ed. K-6 certification

Please note salary is based on verifiable years of teaching experience as per District guidelines.

Let's talk about compensation: Did you know that Brevard Public Schools offers our teachers a pay supplement based on years of experience? Our voters passed a millage last November and all teachers, from zero to 19+ years of experience, will receive a supplement. The pay ranges based on years of experience, but for a teacher with 19+ years teaching, that's approximately an additional $7,849 (pay and supplement are prorated based on start date) in your pocket! This raises the overall compensation higher than our neighboring counties, so create your application to teach within Brevard Public Schools at www.brevardschools.org.

We also offer advanced degree supplements, if the advanced degree is related to one's job responsibilities.

Qualified Varying Exceptionalities ESE teachers must create a BPS BEACON application so that we can verify your eligibility to teach at www.brevardschools.org under the Careers tab.

Candidates are also encouraged to send a letter of intent and a resume to Courtney Taylor, school secretary at Manatee, but a BEACON application is required for serious consideration.

As the largest employer in Brevard County, we are proud to offer all full-time employees excellent medical, dental, and vision insurance benefits at a reasonable cost.

Join an excellent team and make a daily impact with ESE students at Manatee!
