Position Summary:
Serves as the Manager of all Outpatient Oncology Clinics/Departments. Responsibilities include managing oversight of day-to-day department operations, including department staff; efficient and effective administrative, clinical, educational, and maintenance operations within department; identifying and making recommendations regarding process improvement opportunities; and managing special projects, which includes oversight of the Oncology Clinical Research program. Responsible for the departmental operating and capital budgets, employee engagement & turnover, and the optimization of resources to meet/exceed departmental and organizational key performance metrics. The Oncology Services Manager serves an integral role as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, coordinated and cost-efficient care to oncology patients and their families and caregivers. Manager establishes and maintains collaborations with medical providers and provider organizations, serving as a point of contact to offer information, education and coordination of patient care related to oncology. Manager must effectively communicate and coordinate with providers, staff, administration, and internal and external customers, including patients.

- Licensed Registered Nurse, RN (IL)

Essential Functions:
- Provides oversight of day-to-day operations of all Methodist Outpatient Oncology Clinics/Departments
- Ability to drive operating metrics for positive performance
- Clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions.
- Maintains strategic perspective with department operations.
- Manages, evaluates, and ensures staff perform efficiently and effectively.
- Manages leaders of day-to-day operations in each department
- Procures necessary equipment and resources for personnel in all Outpatient Oncology Clinics/Departments
- Ensures department planning and scheduling is in compliance with budgetary guidelines, proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, and appropriate space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties
- Manages the development and implementation of patient scheduling procedures
- Maximize the number of daily procedures that can be performed to ensure efficient operations in the departments
- Manages various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, vacation schedules and corrective action.
- Ensures the availability of proper staffing for delivering patient care in all Outpatient Oncology Clinics/Departments
- Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as JCAHO, IEMA, IDPH and FDA
- Manages development and maintenance of departmental policies, procedures, and objectives
- Works closely with department leaders to ensure safe, accurate, and quality care is provided
- Oversees the quarterly site visit activities conducted by the outside radiation safety consultants and suggests corrective actions
- Works to promote a positive work environment which emphasizes respect for patients, families, physicians, staff and internal and external departments
- Oversees staff coordinating machine maintenance and machine repairs and minimizes machine downtime
- Works with providers and the department director to coordinate provider schedules and coverage for time off
- Provides opportunities for staff development and in-service programs
- Enhance patient access and ease referral management for physicians
- Develops coaching and corrective action plans as needed to influence team members related to performance and behaviors
- Investigates performance and behavioral issues with HR to make employment status decisions
- Coaches and grows team members as a part of their personal and professional development
- Works with department leaders to set goals and objectives for achievement of operational results
- Recognizes the sense of urgency with leadership, customers, staff, patients, and providers
- Makes daily patient and employee rounds in each department
- Mentors staff toward achieving excellent patient experiences
- Models the organizational values and behaviors
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with providers, staff and patients
- Assist in identifying and solving problems
- Enforces and adheres to all organizational personnel/legal compliance policies and procedures and safety guidelines

- Completes and conducts performance reviews with direct reports and gives oversight on indirect reports performance reviews
- Ensures department and region fits into the organization and the work throughout the organization, its subsidiaries and affiliates
- Ensures the ongoing training and development of department leaders
- Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, training and development opportunities and performance review process
- Builds and maintains employee morale and motivation
- Ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies
- Fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Hires and manages; sets expectations, holds accountable, coaches, develops, and trains as needed
- Responsible for team engagement and making it a great place to work for staff
- Participate in regularly scheduled department staff meetings are conducted to share
