Service Manager, Operations

Status: Exempt (salaried)

Department: MPD Service

Position Summary

The Service Manager, Operations role is responsible for managing all day-to-day service operations at our local service center. The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a thorough knowledge of technical service and has a demonstrated track record in operations management. The Service Manager must be prepared to adapt to the ever-changing needs of a fast-paced service organization while coaching their team to success. It is necessary that the Service Manager establishes procedural standards in place for the service organization through effective training and ongoing communication.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all day-to-day deliverables for customer spares, rental equipment, and depot repair; assign daily tasks and lead efforts to meet service goals
  • Direct all tasks associated with service materials associated with spares, rental equipment, and depot repair with high level of quality
  • Develop and communicate reporting metrics that display labor efficiencies within the service center, inventory levels and cost-control data
  • Manage tool room and tooling certification program for field service locations
  • Manage and drive 5S compliance at all customer sites
  • Interact with customers as needed, establishing communication regarding spares and rentals as needed
  • Responsible for the decommissioning process of return and trade-in units, ensuring material is reworked for optimal cost savings
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with direct report team members; delegate tasks and project assignments; provide guidance on service standards - said in first part
  • Develop strong cross-functional relationships within various sectors of the business including service regions, warehouse, production, and engineering to support mutual company goals
  • Evaluate and develop departmental procedures that support cost control, rigid quality standards and foster efficiency and accuracy; champion process improvement initiatives as appropriate
  • Maintain and enforce a safe environment and a culture of safety in alignment with 5S principles and in accordance with all OSHA regulations
  • Lead performance management activities including the preparation of performance evaluations, handling of disciplinary matter, and others as necessary by partnering with your supervisor and Human Resources team

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or relevant field of study
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience; experience with management and team supervision is highly preferred
  • Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Highly adept leadership qualities to establish pillars of team performance excellence and build team morale
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated

Pay Rate:

$83,900.00 - $125,800.00
