Summary of Job Duties:The Web Developer position for the Division of Student Affairs plays a pivotal role in crafting websites and applications that exceed expectations in terms of visual appeal, functionality and user-friendliness. In addition to a strong background in both front-end development and back-end systems, the ideal candidate will have a passion for web development and a strong understanding of the Bootstrap framework. Collaborating closely with cross functional teams to design, develop and support responsive websites and applications that serve the needs of our diverse audiences, this position will greatly impact the division's communication with students and external stakeholders.

Success in this role requires an eye for detail, adept problem-solving skills and knowledge of web development languages including, but not limited to, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least four years of professional web development experience in lieu of degree

OR

  • At least two years professional web development experience and a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

OR

  • At least two years of professional experience developing within the Modern Campus CMS (formerly known as Omniupdate) and relevant certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap

  • Experience with one or more web programming languages such as PHP, Python, JavaScript, etc.

  • Experience designing, developing and deploying responsive websites

  • Experience with content management systems, preferably Modern Campus CMS (formerly known as Omniupdate)

  • Experience in developing, testing, and maintaining APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) to support secure integration across platforms

  • Experience using Google Analytics to improve web presence

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):

  • Knowledge Understanding of web accessibility standards and SEO best practices

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud

  • Knowledge of SEO principles

  • Knowledge of web standards, accessibility, and best practices

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Basic project management skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

$68,814 - $73,814 (Commensurate with education and experience)
