TITLE Licensed Mental Health Clinician/Embedded (Housing) Texas Woman's University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Denton JOB SUMMARY This embedded position will provide comprehensive psychological services to a culturally diverse student population living in TWU residence halls. This is an 11- month position .Duties include individual and group therapy; crisis intervention; mental health coaching; preventative mental health outreach including workshops and presentations; student engagement activities; and training/consultation for Housing staff. This position may also perform clinical duties at CAPS as time permits. The individual in this position will serve on the Student Life Students of Concern committee in order to facilitate student follow up and referrals as needed. Serves as referral source for students seeking university and community resources. Psychological practice is performed in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council as well as the American Psychological Association Code of Ethics. Work is performed under general supervision and performance evaluation is based upon completion of assignments and results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures. ADDITIONAL DUTIES
EDUCATION Master's degree in mental health related field: counseling, social work, or similar discipline. Licensed as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, or in similar discipline preferred. EXPERIENCE Prefer at least 2-4 years of post-licensure experience in a university counseling center or mental health agency. Clinical experience with women's issues and a commitment to working with diverse clients including individuals from ethnically/racially diverse backgrounds and individuals representing various sexual orientations and gender identities is essential. Knowledge of and experience working with residential students is preferred. Additionally, experience with preventative mental health outreach is desired. Although licensed candidates are preferred, non-licensed candidates with relevant experience may be considered. Supervision by an appropriate licensed mental health clinician would need to be secured by applicant. REQUIREMENT Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
