Carnegie Mellon University is a private, global research university that stands among the world's most renowned education institutions. With ground-breaking brain science, path-breaking performances, creative start-ups, big data, big ambitions, hands-on learning, and a whole lot of robots, CMU doesn't imagine the future, we invent it. If you're passionate about joining a community that challenges the curious to deliver work that matters, your journey starts here! We are looking for a Faculty and Graduate Affairs Coordinator, who will join the Office of Faculty and Graduate Affairs in the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. The College of Engineering at CMU is an educational leader in many traditional and interdisciplinary areas of engineering. The college consists of ten academic degree granting departments and three major interdisciplinary institutes with roughly 5,000 students and 750 faculty and staff, across three global locations (Pittsburgh, Silicon Valley, and Rwanda, Africa). The Office of Faculty and Graduate Affairs oversees and supports all aspects of faculty matters and graduate education in the college and serves as a liaison between the college and its departments and the campus level. Core Responsibilities: The Coordinator will be responsible for managing data, processes, and selected events that are associated with faculty and graduate affairs in the College of Engineering. The responsibilities pertaining to faculty affairs will focus on managing faculty data (e.g., tenure decision dates, leave-of-absence requests, faculty annual reports, etc.) and the reappointment, promotion, and tenure (RPT) process. The Coordinator works with departments to create RPT casebooks that adhere to University and College policies and trains personnel when needed, manages the College RPT Ad Hoc and Review meetings, updates final casebooks and submits them to the Vice Provost for Faculty Office, and notifies faculty members about their personal milestones and deadlines associated with the RPT timeline. The new Coordinator will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining a secure, commercial web-based platform for centralized documentation for faculty data and processes. For graduate affairs, the responsibilities center on retrieving, reporting, storing, and analyzing graduate student data from appropriate University and College databases, and assisting with reporting strategies (e.g., MS enrollment management). The Coordinator will also support events run by the College's Center for Faculty Success and other events for graduate students. Inclusion and cultural sensitivity are valued competencies at CMU. Therefore, we are in search of a team member who can effectively interact with a varied population of diverse audiences. We are looking for someone who shares our values and who will support the mission of the university through their work. Qualifications:
