Description

Sun Nuclear technicians play a vital role in the creation of Phantom Technology and Tissue stimulation under direction of supervisors and engineers. In an industrial type of environment our fabricator technicians are responsible for assembling finished products using tools, machines, and their own hands.

Responsibilities



  • Work in accordance with plans and specifications
  • Read blueprints and technical sketches
  • Reporting all defects/work orders to Fabrication Supervisor
  • Clean, repair and perform maintenance on shop equipment
  • Complying with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Efficiently manage time and meet specified deadlines
  • Operate various hand tools and shop equipment such as table saws, routers, band saws, lathe, thermo formers, wire binders, industrial belt sanders, oxy-acetylene torches, paint booths, palm and disc sanders and deburring tools.
  • Fabrication of proprietary parts and components as assigned
  • Inspect completed work for conformance to specifications using measurement tools such as calipers, height gauges, micrometers, rulers etc.
  • Interpret measurements
  • Verify specifications



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to read blueprints and technical sketches
  • Work well independently and within a team and have the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers
  • Considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade
  • Considerable knowledge of the maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment.
  • Needs a strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on deadline
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • 20/20 Vision (either naturally or with correction)
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or any other member of Management.



Education and Experience

High School degree, diploma or a GED and/or 1-2 years as a maintenance worker
