What You'll Do in This Position

SRNS is seeking to hire an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer in Site Infrastructure Engineering (SIE). This position will report to the Facilities and Systems Engineering Organization and will develop conventional engineering solutions within various SRS facilities. This position is responsible for SRNS specific systems and requirements for accomplishing various tasks. The candidate selected for this role will demonstrate leadership skills, work with minimal supervisory guidance, perform cost and schedule estimates, and mentor less senior professionals.

Perform the following tasks relative to specific facility operational needs:

- Miscellaneous structural analysis and calculations for equipment anchoring, pipe stress, roof loading and fall protection (fall arrest and fall restraint)
-Perform analysis of structural systems for both static and dynamic loads using manual computation and computer programs
- Development of critical lift plans and working directly with the organization's site rigging group
-Capable of design of concrete, steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and composite structures
-Structural analysis for impact loads, overpressure, and other accident conditions

Other duties include:

- Development of Scopes/Statements of Work for proposed modifications or designs to support Operations or Maintenance requests

-Work directly with operations and maintenance
personnel to maintain system operability

- System Configuration Control to include minor design development, component replacement, facility walkdowns, drawing reviews/updates, procedure development/review /approval, preventive maintenance identification

- Usage of local, State and Federal/National Codes and Standards

- Work package/system maintenance review and Approval

- Work with Design or Project Management organizations on large scale designs and projects

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications We Require

Bachelor degree in applicable science or engineering discipline

Other Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering, required.
Must have experience in design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities and have working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD and LRFD), ACI 318 and 349, AWS, ASCE 4 and 7, NFPA, and OSHA. Also, must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

Qualifications We Desire

Experience in 2D Microstation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) are preferred.
