The candidate will work remotely, ideally on west coast hours (since most of our projects are in this region). This job will require periodic travel to project sites for coordination of project transitions, up to ~20% of the time. This job requires walking project sites and being on feet for prolonged periods of time.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Looking for a versatile player who possesses solid project management, communication, coordination and administrative skills, with a technical background, preferably with renewable energy experience (Solar, Battery Storage, Wind). Candidate would work remotely and periodically travel to meet with project partners and visit project sites, at key turning points, to prepare for the transition of Utility-Scale and Distributed Generation renewable energy projects from construction to Operations (O&M).

  • This position is part of the O&M Transition and Warranty team. The Transition Manager will lead the transitions of assigned projects, while coordinating and collaborating with key project team members from pre-construction through turnover to O&M.
  • Lead and coordinate Transition process activities with key Project Execution collaborators.
  • Develop and prepare Transition Packages and seek and collect key project documentation and requirements as early as available. Initiate regular meetings to action relevant transition activities throughout the process.
  • Periodically update O&M Field Service, O&M Performance Engineering and the Remote Operational Control Center team on the progress and status of the project and transition activities.
  • Travel to sites to participate in the activities and/or at key turning points, where appropriate.
  • Work with fellow team members to evolve and improve the Transition process, based on lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with Project Execution PM, Project QA/QC, Engineering Commissioning, and the Project team to help ensure knowledge transfer, coordination of contractual on-site EPC training of site O&M personnel and monitor the progress of transfer of required technical documentation.
  • Brief O&M teams on contents of the Transition Package and key O&M requirements.
  • Identify gaps in EPC Agreements as they relate to Transition activities and initiate actions to clarify or improve vague language, where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in O&M transition of assigned DG projects and seek ways to improve the DG Transition process. Handle the Turnover and sign-off process and document any known risks to Operations.
  • Coordinate and transition projects that will ultimately be maintained by a 3rd Party O&M organization and then transition/brief the project the 3rd Party when appropriate.
  • Lead and drive major warranty claims on assigned projects.

Experience:

  • MS Office software experience
  • Electrical systems knowledge
  • Power industry background
  • Renewable energy O&M or EPC experience
  • Solar project Commissioning knowledge/experience would be useful
  • Overall knowledge of Utility and/or Distributed Generation solar projects
  • QA/QC knowledge/experience
  • Adobe Acrobat Pro experience

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
