Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Robeson Campus Center - Newark. Reporting to the Assistant Dean/Director of Community Standards & Student Development ( ADCS), the Program Coordinator will provide, administrative, programmatic, student conduct and special event support and coordination for Community Standards.

The position is responsible for and not limited to the following:

  • Supports all student conduct functions including case management, intake, preliminary investigations, scheduling hearings and appeals, appropriate and up-to-date student record notations, direct communication with students, and sanction management
  • Provides oversight of educational programming, special event planning, data tracking for program attendance, assessment, and assistance with other programmatic offerings as needed
  • Assists with the administrative and programmatic support functions of special projects. These will change from year to year

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach
  • Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy


Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge with diverse populations; this is necessary to adequately serve the student population that this department serves. Background in college student development and/or knowledge of college student development theories/philosophies
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree preferred
  • Preference for applicants with degrees in the following disciplines: college student development, higher education leadership, sociology, psychology, social work, human relations, or other social science or student-oriented discipline
