Position Purpose |
To provide broad administrative and operations support to Professor Thalia Wheatley, individually, as well as coordinating activities within the Consortium for Interacting Minds (
CIM), to increase the operational efficiency of
CIM, expedite/coordinate the work of others, and ensure smooth operations of
CIM programming and space. |

Skills & Knowledge
- Strong planning and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Word/Google Docs and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Ability to acquire new technical skills and implement new procedure.
Experience
- A minimum of 4 years administrative experience
- Evidence of conscientiousness, self-direction, and common sense as exercised in a professional context

Key Accountabilities
Description |
Financial and budget management
- Manage multi-year internal-use research budgets, including tracking Dartmouth and outside funder policies, requirements, and schedules; tracking expenses; and monitoring pay and reimbursements for students and staff
- Assist with managing deadlines and compiling information for required reports to research funders
- Assist with drafting funding applications and required reports
- Coordinate reimbursements (receipts, reports submissions, tracking)

Support the recruitment, screening, and onboarding of new staff and student research assistants
- Manage applications for student and staff research assistant positions; exercise discretion in handling sensitive and/or confidential materials
- Draft and update position descriptions
- Onboard new staff and student research assistants
- Manage pipelines of candidates for open searches
- Serve as an initial point of contact for students affiliated with the consortium
