Aviation Screener

Primary Purpose of the Position

The primary purpose of the Screener is to deliver efficient, safe, and discreet flight support services. The screen will report directly to the Customer Service Manager. The screener determines the first and last impressions on our charter clients by maintaining a respectful attitude and professional discretion.

Essential Functions:



  • Maintain a clean and safe ramp
  • Comply with Company policies and procedures related to customer service standards, ramp safety and security procedures
  • Secure all gates when ramp is unattended
  • Ensure that all equipment is functional and in working status
  • Communicate with charter coordinators and customers
  • Anticipate client's needs and respond promptly to their concerns
  • Excellent customer service and Ramp etiquette
  • Safeguard the ramp by not letting any unattended vehicles or unauthorized personnel
  • Treat all information as confidential.
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge.
  • Deals courteously and communicates effectively with fellow employees.
  • Must conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of a questionable or dangerous item.
  • Notify or ensure immediate Law Enforcement Officer and/or Airline Ground Security Coordinator notification when necessary.
  • Screen passengers and their belongings using screening equipment.
  • Assist with the handling of baggage and cargo as needed.
  • Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and other major incidents to the supervisor immediately.
  • Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
  • Must be in proper uniform as directed by company officials.
  • Identification badges must always be visible
  • Perform other duties as requested.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Physically able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Report to work in a regular and timely basis


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic knowledge of various aircraft types and servicing a plus
  • Apply concepts of basic math to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, area, and volume
  • Handle and prioritize multiple projects concurrently.

Reports to: Customer Service Manager

Location: Sacramento, CA

Salary: $15.50/ hour

Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

FLSA Status: This position is nonexempt.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions including extreme heat and cold; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions and vibration; chemicals including aviation fuels, oils, and lavatory fluid. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Travel: This position requires no travel.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform frequent walking, sitting, stooping, stretching, bending, reaching, and grasping actions. May be required to work nights and weekends. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
