Job Summary: Responsible for master level machining, assisting in the training of junior level employees, machine process creation and implementation, machine part cost reduction, machine maintenance and repair, manufacture of all fixtures and dies, rework and all other delegated tasks. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs all high skill level manual machining operations.
Confers with supervisor to refine the machine process in order to reduce part cost and cycle time.
Responsible for preventative machine maintenance.
Responsible for machine repair and set-up.
Responsible for assisting in the design and manufacture of all assembly fixtures, tools and dies.
Responsible for performing all complex rework.
Responsible for assisting in lower level employee training and coaching.
Assists supervisor in achievement of area goals.
Assist with time quoting and routing of work through the machine shop
Acts as delegate for supervisor as needed.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Two year trade school, or equivalent, plus a minimum of seven years experience in setting up and operating three or more groupings of metal fabricating machines such as drill presses, lathes and milling machines- Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) and conventional. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to weld. Must be able to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair (G Code) programs and adjust for the appropriate machines. Must be able to program and set-up all Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines. Must be able to design and create effective and useful tools for assembly and machine applications. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
