Position Summary
We are seeking a responsible, self-motivated student to staff our HSC IT support service desk, respond to e-mail inquiries, process work tickets, run routine IT repairs on campus, and help with special projects. The successful candidate will be assigned to work directly with the IT Service Desk team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Plays an integral role as front-line staff in the IT support operations of the UNM HSC campus by responding to and troubleshooting email, online, and in-person inquiries * Configures, manages and repairs computers, printers, smartphones, and other devices used by faculty, staff and students * Provides in-the-field assistance to users with various computer hardware and software issues * Utilizes a central ticketing system to communicate with colleagues and resolve issues in conjunction with higher-level IT resources both centrally and within their assigned department * Assists in maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Exceptional communication and customer service skills with a strong work ethic * In depth knowledge of Microsoft and/or Mac OS software and services (including operating systems and productivity software such as Microsoft Office) * Ability to evaluate and solve information technology problems * Ability to provide technical guidance and training * Skill configuring, troubleshooting and repairing personal computer hardware
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills to
help staff resolve technical problems - Previous experience in an IT
support environment - Experience with Apple (Mac)
operating systems and devices - Genuine interest in information
technologies and ability to manage the rapid pace of change that comes with that industry
