Description
The Yard Associate coordinates the accurate and efficient distribution of equipment in order to satisfy customer demand. This position is responsible for receiving and inspecting equipment in a yard environment and keeping the equipment yard in an orderly fashion using established procedures. Additionally, this position supports customer/visitor needs while in the equipment yard.
Essential Functions:
Loads and unloads equipment and attachments as needed for both Company and Customer Trucks
Conducts, inspects, and reports condition of equipment
Maintains equipment inventory systems per standard operating procedures
Verifies and maintains all equipment arriving and/or departing equipment yard and documents activities accordingly
Inspects and performs check-out and check-in procedures
Conducts physical inventory counts and performs inventory reconciliation
Reviews all shipping and receiving documents to ensure current inventory accuracy
Washes and cleans machines and equipment
Documents equipment condition before and after utilization
Assists with routine inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance
Maintains equipment inventory systems per standard operating procedures
Assists with equipment demonstrations and loading and unloading of equipment
Delivers Legendary Customer Service to internal and external customers
Promotes a strong team environment by effectively collaborating with peers while maintaining a positive attitude
Maintains organization and order while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
Assists with any inventory-related questions
Delivery and/or pick-up of equipment as needed
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to prepare reports and maintain records
The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Education and Experience:
One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Class C Driver's License required

No travel is expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
This position involves extended periods in a stationary position and frequently moves about inside and outside of maintenance bays
Must be able to move objects, and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladders
Be able to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
Regularly works outdoors around heavy steel products and various pieces of equipment
May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
The noise level may be loud at times
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment
Significant time spent in confined spaces and high places
