The primary focus of this position is to support the Enterprise Director over Finance and Business Operations for the Pharmacy Enterprise through diverse assignments addressing the missions of the department and involving all the related organizations. These include both financial and business operational management. In addition this position will have oversight for short and long term planning of pharmacy initiatives, policy development, implementation, and evaluation for the WVU Health System pertaining to revenue cycle, patient assistance and budgeting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor's Degree

2. Pharmacy Business, Finance, Billing, or Reimbursement Certifications from an accredited organization such as ASHP, HFMA, or PTCB within 9 months of hire

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five (5) years' experience in a professional capacity in healthcare or pharmacy.

2. Two (2) years' leadership experience.

3. Two (2) years' experience in data analysis, financial analysis, and reporting.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Master's Degree in Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Five years' experience in a professional capacity in healthcare or pharmacy.

2. Revenue Cycle Experience.

3. 340B Program Experience.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. Assists with annual budget and reforecasting process to include compiling data, profile comparisons, and generate reports related to current expenses to serve as the basis for the budget proposal.

2. Interacts with hospital purchasing, materials handling, and other departments responsively and productively to promote efficient systems interface and problem resolution related to fiscal management.

3. Meets with and tracks business program vendors to evaluate products and contracts to determine their appropriateness for use at WVUH.

4. Provides oversight and project management of all financial standardization efforts & reporting for all supported entities.

5. Provides oversight of Enterprise revenue cycle to include the charge master payment tables and workflow standardization.

6. Manages the Enterprise patient assistance program to provide access to medication and copay assistance for our indigent population.

7. Manages the Enterprise finances to include budgeting and revenue monitoring to ensure projections are accomplished.

8. Works with Enterprise Directors and Chief Pharmacy Officer in the planning, development and implementation of Enterprise goals and objectives.

9. Develops and routinely monitors monthly and annual reports. Clearly document utilization, savings, problem areas and exceptions or discrepancies. Passes on financial opportunities to pharmacy leadership and administration.

10. Provides monthly revenue and budgeting reports to Chief Financial officer, Chief Pharmacy Officer and Enterprise Directors including identifying significant activity variances.

11. Assists in leveraging pharmacy expertise to support the Enterprise Director of Utilization in support of MUE's and standardization initiatives.

12. Assists in formulary addition process by providing the appropriate billing and reimbursement information.

13. Provides oversight of monthly reimbursement and denial reviews as they pertain to pharmaceuticals within the WVU Health System.

14. Effectively manages operating revenue, charge validation and correction, and reimbursement for all areas of responsibility.

15. Assists the 340B program team in the oversight for short and long term planning of pharmacy initiatives, policy development, WAC spend, implementation, and evaluation for the WVU Health System pertaining to 340B.

16. Active member of the WVUH 340B Steering Committee attending all meeting and disseminating information as needed.

17. Attends all patient assistance and finance related meetings when required & conducts annual hospital site visits.

18. Collaborates with project stakeholders to analyze, communicate, and validate financial impact for various projects and program installations within the WVU Health System.

19. Assists in the coordination of the biannual physical inventory process to include scheduling, report generation and certification.

20. Works with the patient assistance and finance groups to ensure appropriate reimbursement processes, monitoring of high cost medications and standardization of workflow.

21. Ensures that policies and procedures are developed, implemented, and maintained and are approved by the institution's legal department.

22. Responsible for department management including budget and human relations issues.

23. Provides oversight for the implementation of process improvement initiatives and creates an environment that places an emphasis on continuous monitoring and improvement.

24. Maintains work group assignments and follows up with staff on completion of tasks.
