Overview
DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a Principal Project Manager to join our IRS Customer Support Services (CSS) IT Service Desk team. The Principal Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing large-scale IT deployment projects for the IRS. This role includes managing technical staff, ensuring the quality of task deliverables, and maintaining compliance with corporate and government policies. The Principal Project Manager will coordinate the flow of equipment, manage project documentation, and provide regular progress reports to the IRS GTM. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing government IT projects and supervising technical teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise technical and administrative staff, ensuring the successful completion of all tasks in the assigned program area.
- Coordinate equipment flow (incoming, outgoing, replacement, repurposed, and disposal), ensuring all asset records are up to date.
- Develop, review, and approve project plans, schedules, and technical documents.
- Monitor and report on the performance of subcontractors and consultants.
- Maintain compliance with corporate and government policies, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Attend meetings and training sessions as requested by the IRS and provide input on policy and procedural updates.
- Provide weekly reports to the IRS GTM, outlining the status of tasks and project deliverables.
Qualifications
- Active Public Trust Clearance or ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
- Completed IRS Minimum Background Investigation or ability to clear IRS Minimum Background Investigation.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale IT projects, preferably for government agencies such as the IRS.
- Knowledge of Aternity software, ServiceNow, eGain, Bomgar, Microsoft Office Products, and Apple IOS software.
- Strong supervisory skills to manage technical teams and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as a team leader to foster a productive work environment.
- Experience in developing and maintaining project documentation, schedules, and policies.
- Excellent communication skills to provide detailed reports and updates to IRS management.
