NASA Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Development Project Analyst will contribute to the ongoing performance of EVA Development Hardware Program supporting the analysis and evaluation of contract program and business functions. The candidate will develop and maintain program processes in support of the technical and financial performance on EVA Development Hardware Project. The candidate will have a highly detail-oriented perspective and will work with Aerospace and NASA leadership team to contribute and support assessments of monthly performance reporting, metrics, and strategic planning implementation. The candidate will develop and execute studies to support analysis, refinement and continuous improvement of mechanisms, processes and assessment criteria required to achieve organizational strategy, vision, and mission elements.

Work Model

This is a full-time position based at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX, offering a hybrid work model that combines 3-4 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Proactively identify and remediate risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary. Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent.
  • Lead systems studies and analyses that support technical, programmatic and organizational decision-making on a variety of EVA Development Hardware projects.
  • Analyze and document decision processes related to EVA Development Hardware / Exploration EVA Services (xEVAS) contract projects.
  • Conduct analysis of Contract Officer Representative (COR) workflow and processes to enhance efficiencies, improve program oversight, identify improvement areas, and develop resolution.
  • Provide program management, cost estimating, resource management, contract management, scheduling, and risk management. Work with CORs to improve the quality of resources to allow automation of descriptions/definitions and develop other resources for EVA Development Hardware Program.
  • Develop management reports of performance metrics including baseline comparisons, schedule trends, and resource usage and projections, and track performance against the defined objectives.
  • Assist HESF and NASA management in the development, updating, and execution of project management plans and other required project documentation such as concept of operations, project plans, and Configuration Management Workflow (CMW).

What You Need to be Successful - Project Management Staff III

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited program
  • 12 or more years of NASA or government program management and/or government business operations experience
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Ability to research and provide recommendations associated with IT products and services (cost, capabilities, function) including but not limited to market intelligence, market trends, cost/benefit analysis.
  • Excellent written communication skills - organize complex materials and concepts in clear and logical manner.
  • Demonstrated teaming and leadership skills in tasks such as formulating plans, leading studies, and utilizing internal technology competency organizations.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills - clear, concise, persuasive; builds consensus through speaking; polished, professional style.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to work location or customer site/domestically approx. 10%
  • This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

  • An advanced degree from an accredited program.
  • Experience performing or leading technical and programmatic tasks for NASA.
  • Experience with NASA Acquisitions.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification.
