Heavy Mechanical Foreman

McMillen Inc is seeking a highly qualified Heavy Mechanical Forman with a minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in the field. This applicant should be extremely detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated and must be able to think out-of-the-box to find solutions to both routine and complex construction problems while continuing to push the project forward.

Prefer that this applicant has experience on heavy civil projects including work around bridges, structural concrete, mechanical equipment installation, heavy steel structure installation, and marine work.

The Heavy Mechanical Foreman is responsible for monitoring progress for all self-performing work, subcontractor coordination, supervision, jobsite safety and coordination of inspections on the job site. The Foreman directs the day to day activities of the laborers and the on-going decision making pertaining to project planning and production.

This position requires 100% travel. Project sites are in the South and Southeast US.

Responsibilities:



  • Handle scheduling and coordination of subcontractors, labor and materials
  • Daily review of "work in place" and compliance of work with plans.
  • Manage overall safety of the job site
  • Maintaining daily paperwork such as timecards, field reports etc.
  • Maintain a daily diary of all activities and site conditions and manage punch list and closeout process for the job.
  • Must have a great attitude and the ability to motivate team members on site.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all subcontractors and clients.
  • Must have good computer skills and should have experience in working on Microsoft Office related programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience and a solid working knowledge of all phases of construction.
  • Experience in supervising a direct hire workforce and subcontractors
  • The ability to read blueprints and specifications, to create material lists and to fill out time cards and other minor record keeping tasks.
  • Extensive knowledge of the trades and the work involved, along with an ability to resolve problems with appropriate and timely decisions.
  • Bend, stoop, crouch, climb, carry, stand, walk, and turn/pivot.
  • Work full-time, 8-10 hours per day, 5 or 6 days per week.
  • Extended hours may be required as construction needs dictate.
  • Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
  • Grasp and maintain control of objects.
  • Lift tools and building material to heights above shoulder and lower materials to foot level.
  • Travel is required 100% (company pays per diem for travel 70+ miles away from home)


Benefits: $28.00 - $46 per hour DOE, 10 days of PTO, 9 paid holidays per year, Subsistence/Per Diem (If temporarily assigned 70+ miles from residence)
