Position Summary |
The Social/Clinical Research Specialist will function as the lead coordinator on several industry sponsored clinical trials for the Department of Neurology. The position will work independently to start new studies, master and implement study protocols, ensure that study visits occur on schedule and that all assessments are performed and documented correctly. Complete
IRB actions, maintain regulatory and subject binders, enter data, conduct monitoring visits, and to close out studies.
The
NCTU is managing a complex mix of trials. This position manages, conducts, and evaluates the clinical research associated with the Department of Neurology. The work performed is to support the expanding research program within the department. The position will interact with patients impacted by a broad range of neurological impairment. The position may independently complete assessments or perform neurocognitive testing, such as
ADAS-Cog,
CDR,
NPI,
MOCA and/or work closely with the Neuropsychometrist.
This position validates data/information collection, documentation, and analysis with a goal of performing and ensuring that good clinical practice guidelines are followed. The range of duties include, but not limited to: management of projects, (planning and design, data/information collection and analysis, project administration and oversight). |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
- The Social/Clinical Research Specialist must be able to demonstrate an advanced working knowledge of research, regulatory compliance (FDA, ICH, GCP) and ability to understand clinical protocol.
- Must have advanced proficiency with medical terminology and must be able to review medical records with a high enough level of understanding to effectively screen patients according to study inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Must have experience coordinating and conducting clinical research study visits and conducting visit follow up.
- Must have experience processing biological specimens.
- Must be able to multitask.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Must have a basic knowledge of social/clinical research principles, study design, methods of data/information collection, and analysis used to complete defined assignments.
- Must be able to plan work to meet established deadlines.

Preferred candidate will have: 1) demonstrated experience in research activities; 2) knowledge and appreciation of university structure, practices, policies, and procedures, 3) experience performing cognitive assessments, such as
ADAS-Cog,
CDR,
NPI, and
MOCA. 4) data entry experience. |
