The basics of this position:

Clinical Adjunct Faculty teach Dental Hygiene students clinical skills in the public Dental Hygiene Clinic. The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) Standards for Dental Hygiene Education require specific instructor student ratios be maintained to be a CODA accredited program. Due to the resignation of several clinical adjunct faculty, additional faculty must be hired to maintain this ratio.

What you'll do:



  • Provides clinical instruction and supervision of dental hygiene students in the Dental Hygiene Clinic.
    Expected to participate in continuing education opportunities and collaborate with fellow faculty for the betterment of the program and student experience.


Education, experience, and other requirements:

A bachelor's degree in dental hygiene or, a bachelor's degree with an associate's degree in dental hygiene, is required with current state licensure that includes permits for infiltration and block anesthesia as a registered dental hygienist by the Missouri Dental Board. A minimum of three years of full-time clinical dental hygiene experience. The candidate must possess the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff and patients with diverse backgrounds. ADHA membership is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree, five years of full-time clinical dental hygiene experience with local anesthesia and nitrous oxide permits is preferred as well as dental hygiene teaching experience. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills working with students, colleagues and staff. Organizational and time management skills are imperative.
