Department of Animal Sciences Job Description
Providing animal care, record keeping and support for the National Swine Resource and Research Center. These animals are at multiple locations across campus. The animals are of high value and represent a genetic resource for the biomedical community. The selected candidate must be able to maintain biosecurity at these various locations. Other duties may include helping with euthanization, sample collections from live or morbid animals and disposal of morbid animals at the Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory, or Animal Sciences. Shift
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Some weekends and holidays as needed. Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with feeding, caring, and monitoring health for large breed animals. As well as, breeding and farrowing, semen collections litter process, and estrus detection. Excellent record keeping skills. Anticipated Hiring Range
