Position Summary

What you can expect in this position: Under the direction of the CISO and Security Admin, performs assigned tasks and/or projects related to the area-specific internship. What you will do: The Internship program is intended to provide an immersive exposure to Information Technology's responsibilities to ensure excellent cybersecurity. This internship provides the opportunity to participate in not only technology initiatives, but also refinement of corporate policies, process, and cyber education. From a technology standpoint key activities may include, isolation of legacy systems, and implementation of a new security information and event management (SIEM) solution and service. This intern roles will attend cyber security team meetings, as well as participate in Versiti's Cyber Incident Response Team (CSIRT) activities and help plan cyber table top exercises. The Internship Program will also provide a basic insights into understanding cyber insurance and customer/vendor contractual requirements related to data protection and business continuity. Excellent cybersecurity ensures the right and ability to provide life-saving products and services here at Versiti. This Cyber Security internship with Versiti, will help you learn, and aid us in achieving our goals.



Responsibilities

    Evaluate end of life system management
  • Participate in external corporate cyber audit/benchmarking activities
  • Participate in CSIRT discussions, and aid in planning tabletop exercises and business continuity refinement.
  • Participate in policy and process discussions and help coordinate updates.
  • Aid in the implementation of a new SIEM solution and service
  • Participate in cross functional CapStone Intern Project with report out to Executive Leadership.
  • Maintains effective communication with internal and external stakeholder via email, phone and in person meetings.
  • Participate and contribute to department meetings, execute on goals and objectives to deliver outstanding results.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned, including assisting the cyber admin in technical research
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures


Qualifications

Education

  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university program in a related field of the internship required

Experience

  • Completed a minimum of 2 years in college/university in a related field of study for the internship preferred
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communication skills preferred
  • Ability to be customer-focused and follow through on requests promptly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills preferred
  • Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments preferred
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately preferred
  • Demonstrates keen attention to detail preferred

Tools and Technology

  • Personal and Network Computer required
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
  • Printer, fax, and copy machines required
  • Multiple phone lines preferred

When you will work?

  • This is a full-time, 40 hour per week internship, working Monday-Friday. The internship will begin on June 2nd, 2025. Our 10 - week summer internships are designed to provide hands-on, project-based experience in various areas of our business.
