Description:

Markon is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer tosupport one of our Intelligence Community customers tocoordinate fire protection requirements for various projects, bring a SME level component to answer RFIs, perform inspections as necessary and communicate effectively to senior leadership.

Duties may include:

• Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety.
• Assist designers with document reviews, consultations, and interpreting FLS requirements and regulations to ensure complete, biddable, and buildable designs.
• Witness testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment
• Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations
• Prepare draft fire protection policy, SOPs, and design standards
• Prepare and brief documentation on fire safety data and metric

Requirements:

• Must have an active TS/SCI with a Polygraph
• Bachelor's Degree plus 11 years of experience (experience/education may be substituted for equivalency)
• Previous experience in the construction of fire suppression and fire alarm systems
• Fire Protection Engineer Basic Qualifications:
• Strong working knowledge of applicable ICC and NFPA codes.
• Ability to produce FLS designsof a variety of critical FLS elements and be able to provide critical comments on FLS designs and installations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience with 29 CFR 1960.20.

  Specific experience with programs at Federal agencies is preferred

  
  
• Former training on the use/maintenance of Fire Protection systems.
