GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Summarize the nature and level of work performed.

Assist Nurses' Health Study IRB coordinator with applications, continuing reviews, and communications with the IRB. Liaise with investigators to complete and submit IRB applications and continuing reviews, and facilitate communications between investigators and the IRB.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Indicate key areas of responsibility, major job duties, special projects and key objectives for this position. These items should be evaluated throughout the year and included in the written annual evaluation.

1) Work with investigators and CDNM IRB coordinator developing and submitting new IRB protocols.

2) Work with investigators and CDNM IRB coordinator submitting continuing reviews for existing IRB protocols.

3) Meet with investigators, IRB coordinator, IRB review members, and Dr. Heather Eliassen.

4) Performs all other duties as assigned including assisting with general office procedures related to IRB.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

Experience working on IRB applications preferred.


SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: (MUST be realistic, neither overstated nor understated, and related to the essential functions of the job.)

1) Must have knowledge of epidemiologic research protocols as well as good general written and verbal skills. High degree of communication skills and ability to speak professionally on the telephone with participants and physicians.

2) Must have the ability to work independently and in a timely fashion.

3) Meticulous attention to detail in all aspect of the job is necessary.

4) Needs ability to relate and work well with individuals from various backgrounds and fields of expertise.

5) Must have experience with computers and word processing skills.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Describe the conditions in which the work is performed.
