Salary: The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 - $120,000 annually. The actual salary amount offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or location.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Global Trainer plays an instrumental role in developing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive training portfolio for globally dispersed ground operations teams directly supporting Boeing Dreamlifter Operations. This position is pivotal in the production and sustainment of highly qualified ground operations personnel who demonstrate proficiency in core competency tasks, quality assurance and control, Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance, as well as continuous process improvement. The Global Trainer is essential for ensuring the safe, efficient, and standardized operation of a diverse range of both common and specialized aviation cargo handling and loading systems. Moreover, this position plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory, Boeing, and Air Carrier requirements pertaining to aviation ground operations and support equipment maintenance. Additionally, the Global Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining both a Quality Management System (QMS) and a Safety Management System (SMS) to optimize Boeing Dreamlifter Operations and ensure the efficacy of the overall training strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates regularly with the Global Contracts Manager and Global Maintenance Manager to assess gaps between personnel core competency standards and the effectiveness of the training portfolio. The findings from this gap analysis will be utilized to optimize the training strategy for Dreamlifter Operations.
  • Lead the professional development of ground operations personnel at each location supporting Dreamlifter Operations, including developing essential knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) for each skill category and level, and designing and implementing targeted training programs to address KSA requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a critical roles matrix for Dreamlifter Operations, identifying key positions and their associated training requirements. Conduct thorough research to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the critical roles matrix, updating it as needed based on the evolving requirements of Dreamlifter Operations and industry best practices.
  • Design and implement comprehensive training curricula for Dreamlifter Operations, covering the operation, maintenance, and orchestration of a diverse range of common and unique aviation ground support equipment. The training curricula will place emphasis on specialized equipment supporting Dreamlifter's oversized cargo.
  • Develop and oversee the strategy for advanced, hands-on training that covers the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of a diverse range of common and unique aviation ground support equipment essential to Dreamlifter Operations. Ensure mechanics and ground ramp agents demonstrate exceptional proficiency in core competency and essential tasks directly related to Dreamlifter Operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and compliance with safety, quality assurance and control, and continuous process improvement best practices.
  • Develop and oversee the strategy for ramp agent training, focusing on all functions related to cargo handling in support of Dreamlifter Operations. Ensure ramp agents demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of cargo handling, including movement coordination, the operation of unique ground support equipment, and adherence to regulatory, Boeing, and Air Carrier requirements, to ensure the efficient execution of Dreamlifter Operations.
  • Ensure training programs are aligned with standards derived from federal, state, local, and international regulations, as well as Boeing and Air Carrier requirements across all locations. This includes customizing training to meet the specific regulatory requirements and operational norms in the US and the two international locations, while also addressing distinct operational and cultural differences at each site.
  • Lead and drive continuous process improvement initiatives for training programs, ensuring alignment with the goals of Dreamlifter Operations and industry best practices. Identify opportunities to enhance training content, delivery methods, and evaluation processes through data analysis, feedback, and benchmarking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements, streamline processes, and optimize the effectiveness and efficiency of global training initiatives.
  • Provide on-site training and support at all locations supporting Boeing Dreamlifter Operations, as needed, to ensure that all personnel are fully trained and operationally ready. Collaborate with station managers and stakeholders to assess training needs and develop tailored training plans that address the specific requirements of each location.
  • Frequently travel to locations supporting Boeing Dreamlifter Operations to conduct comprehensive training audits of each site, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory, Boeing, Air Carrier, and supplier requirements. Provide training and support as needed during these visits. Be prepared to spend extended periods at international locations to ensure thorough training and operational readiness, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to standards.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Aviation Management, Engineering, Training and Development) or equivalent work experience. Advanced certifications in aviation training, quality management, safety management, continuous process improvement, or ground support operations are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a training role within the aviation or aerospace industry, with a focus on ground support operations for oversized cargo. Demonstrated experience in overseeing QMS and SMS implementation and compliance is required. Experience with specialized equipment used in Dreamlifter or similar operations is highly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of GSE and specialized cargo loading systems, including experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of Dreamlifter-specific equipment is preferred.
  • Experience with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Programs and Polices, specific to Airport Handling and Cargo Operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines. Ability to train personnel on compliance with federal, state, local and international regulations as well as Boeing's internal safety protocols.
  • Experience applying continuous process improvement methodologies to aviation operations.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver complex technical training in a clear and engaging manner. Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a strong advantage.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate diverse teams across multiple locations. Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt training content and methods to meet the needs of different learning styles, cultural contexts, and operational requirements. Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in training delivery and operational implementation.
  • Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with the training of mechanics and ramp agents, including lifting, standing, and operating equipment in various weather conditions.



OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Proficiency in training management software and other computer programs related to training delivery and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
  • Computer and office programs knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry best practices.
  • High attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy in performing job-related tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • International and domestic travel requirements: Ability and willingness to travel on an as needed basis (up to 50% of the time) to various global and domestic locations to ensure operational alignment and compliance, including holding a valid passport or the ability to obtain one for international travel.
