Department Information
The mission of the CMHCR is to enhance the academic and personal experience and success of all students by providing a variety of counseling and psychological services to students and the greater campus community. The Center accomplishes its mission by offering services that facilitate students personal development, assist in the alleviation, remediation, and prevention of distress, as well as services that educate students in ways that develop self-awareness, self-reliance, and self-confidence. These services are offered with respect for others, appreciation of individual differences, and compassion.

Job Summary

Provide direct counseling service to Counseling Center clients, as well as consultation and outreach to campus community. Provide crisis intervention and after-hours on-call emergency consultation. This position will interact on a regular basis with: unit and department staff, campus staff, community mental health providers, clients, students and patientsThis position typically will advise and counsel: unit and department staff, campus staff, community mental health providers, clients, students and patientsThis position will supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Provide initial screenings/intakes/assessment; provide individual, group and couples counseling.

Job Duty 2 -
Maintain thorough clinical documentation, including assessments, notes and evaluations.

Job Duty 3 -
Provide crisis intervention and after-hours emergency on-call coverage.

Job Duty 4 -
Provide outreach and consultation to students and campus groups.

Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related mental health field

Other Required Qualifications
Currently licensed in professional discipline in Georgia or in another state. If licensed in another state, must be able to obtain state of Georgia license within one year.

Required Experience
Two to three years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Fully licensed in the discipline of professional counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or other qualified discipline (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Collegiate Recovery programs preferred
  • Experience with alcohol and drug counseling programs strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires knowledge of computer-based productivity systems; professional, national and state ethical guidelines; mental health issues in higher educations; working with diverse populations and concerns; and successful collaboration with others.

Salary range: $63,000.00 - $68,000.00 (commensurate with experience)

Location: Atlanta, GA 30332 (on-site)
