Vice President Sales

At Zaner-Bloser, we create tools for educators that help elementary students become more joyful, creative learners and communicators. Used independently or together, Zaner-Bloser materials help educators build community and confidence in any context, creating the conditions for moments of discovery and understanding to thrive.

The Vice President of Sales leads the sales team on all go-to-market strategies for Zaner-Bloser products that help the organization accomplish its revenue objectives. This position will partner with key leadership counterparts in the organization to establish high level business goals that will drive growth and enhance profitability.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Optimize and align sales processes to support a solutions-based sales strategy that can both maintain the core business and expand into newer business opportunities.
  • Drive the scale and profitability of our existing core and supplemental business, with a rigorous focus on margin and productivity.
  • Build relationships with strategic partners, district and state decision-makers and industry influencers to ensure Zaner-Bloser stays abreast of market needs, funding trends and solution alignment.
  • Participate in strategic planning and leadership as a member of the ZB executive team.
  • Work collaboratively with marketing, product development, and operations management to build a common vision and integrated strategic practices.
  • Develop and implement a data-driven approach for pipeline management and reporting.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for territory planning and goal setting that aligns with growth objectives and product roadmap to drive achievement of targets.
  • Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and a strong competitive spirit to drive team success.
  • Define an Incentive Award Plan that incentivizes and motivates.
  • Ensure all members of the sales team are trained and fluent in selling digital products.
  • Refine organizational structure to ensure that field sales reps can maximize customer-facing time and independent reps are supported and sustained.
  • Optimize the effectiveness of our CRM software throughout the company.
  • Propose and advocate for new categories, product lines, formats, price points, positioning devices, etc. that will maximize the opportunity in strategic customers/channels
  • Partner with Highlights Education Group Leadership Team to maximize revenue opportunities across all markets and product categories.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ year track record of demonstrated success in K-12 sales, including both print and digital solutions.
  • Proven ability to leverage an established network within the industry to drive sales and partnerships.
  • Experience in leading a Sales Team through transformational change.
  • Seasoned leader-coach with a proven track record of success, adept at utilizing data-driven insights and empathetic leadership and mentoring to drive results.
  • Excellent financial management skills that comprehend company financial goals and how departmental budgets and revenue goal budgets drive results.
  • Significant travel required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
