HDR is currently looking for a Transportation BIM Intern to join our growing team of transportation professionals.


Responsibilities

In the role of BIM Specialist/Designer Intern, we'll count on you to:



  • Complete tasks under the direct supervision of an engineer or Project Manager in our Saint Louis Park office.
  • Develop drawings using CADD for preliminary and final designs.
  • Perform basic quantity and geometry calculations while working with a team of Engineers and other designers on various roadway, airfield, or site design projects.
  • Develop detail sheets and plan sets.
  • The individual should be enrolled in 2-year civil engineering technology program or similar.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Strong interest in roadway design or transit
  • Strong interest in use of CADD for design development, and construction documents
  • A desire to use technical and engineering knowledge to solve problems
  • Knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an associate or technical CAD program or graduate/undergraduate degree program
  • Attention to detail a must
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
