An Off Campus Work Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

This is an off-campus work study position with Albuquerque Public
Schools - located at Emerson Elementary school. This position requires a work
study award and pays the hourly rate of $16.50. During
the school year, working hours are from 3:15pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.

Do you like fun and engaging hands-on activities? So do our elementary school students! After School Tutors
in our before/ after school and summer programs at Kirtland Elementary School
work in supportive teams and tap into their own interests and passions in order
to develop and implement academic tutoring activities. Our staff are seen as our biggest asset and are offered a variety of
formal and informal professional development opportunities as well as a voice
around program offerings and activities. We believe in the total development of
our program participants, so we are looking for staff with a wide range of
interests, experiences and linguistic/ cultural/ educational backgrounds.
Reading and Math tutors assist in the development, and implementation of
literacy, academic and enrichment activities for elementary school student's
leadership and love of learning. If you want to spark a love of learning and
act as an example to children/youth, encourage parent and community
involvement, and act as an effective member of a team, this is the job for you!

Work with K-5th grade students to:

* Provide structured learning experiences during out-of-school
time
* Assist students with homework
* Help build math and literacy-based activities that include
technology, place based education, cultural studies, fine arts/crafts,
cooking/math, and service learning


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

You must be able to work in a team, have good communication
skills, leadership skills, motivated, a self- starter, be creative, have a love
for learning, and be able to have fun and enjoy children. Student must have a
work study award for the 2023 - 2024 school year. Must have reliable transportation and
must pass the APS Background and Fingerprinting check (cost is $44.00).
