Description

The Quality Control (QC) Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing quality control measures within the organization. The role involves monitoring processes, conducting inspections and audits, and ensuring adherence to established quality standards. The QC Coordinator works closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and to drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
  • Work independently to make decisions regarding GMP compliance and quality problem-solving, ensuring all activities align with regulatory standards.
  • Review daily QC reports with PCQI sign-off, identify and report any inconsistencies, and ensure compliance with basic quality principles.
  • Oversee and manage the QC hold inventory and rework process, coordinating physical inventory with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and hold board. Report any inconsistencies and discrepancies.
  • Assist, train, and support front-line QC personnel and production teams involved in reworking products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints. Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, procurement, and other departments to ensure quality control requirements are met across the entire value chain.
  • Regularly review current practices against Work Instructions (WI) and report any inconsistencies for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct direct observations of front-line QC staff to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being followed correctly.
  • Attend departmental and cross-functional meetings as required to represent QC and ensure alignment on quality objectives.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all departments.
IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES:
  • 4+ years food safety experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • PCQI, HACCP certification a plus.
  • Previous experience in quality control or quality assurance roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong ability to calmly escalate issues that arise for correct action.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in using quality control software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance related to quality control and quality assurance.
