Physician Assistant

Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina, UNC Asheville is the designated public liberal arts campus in the University of North Carolina system. Primarily 8 am-5 pm, crisis intervention, which may require after hour emergency response; some after hour programming and activities as needed. Occasional travel to regional and out-of-the-area meetings (as needed for training and/or collaboration with other mental health professionals).

The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for direct patient care and clinical services to UNC Asheville students. The Physician Assistant, will perform physical exams, diagnose and treat patients, obtain patient medical histories, order tests, plan treatments, and counsel patients.

The Physician Assistant will work alongside the Medical Director to treat a variety of illnesses and injuries in the UNC Asheville population while promoting physical health and wellness of students while they are in pursuit of higher academic education and achievement.

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. National Certification as a PA. Licensed to practice by the NC Board of Medical Examiners. Ongoing documented continuing education required.

The successful candidate should be licensed to practice in N.C. and at least 1-year experience working with a college-age population. Strong consideration will be given to an individual with significant experience working in an Integrated Care Mode.
