Essential Job Duties
The primary responsibilities of the Research Technician include, but are not limited to assisting with the following:

  • Supporting and maintaining field, container, and on-farm research activities for ornamental plant production cultural practices
  • Collecting, analyzing, and evaluating data
  • Assisting in the use of special equipment (Malvern Panalytical ASD Field Spectroradiometer 4 Hi-Resolution NG, LiCorr portable photosynthesis instrument, pressure chamber, dissecting microscope)
  • Assisting in organizing and maintaining inventory


Extensive travel throughout the southeast of the US is required. Some pesticide applications may be necessary. Outdoor activities often involve manual labor and exposure to heat and rain. This position is a temporary growing season position that will run from approximately September 2024 through August 2025.

  • Undergraduate or high school with some experience of working in agriculture
